Vienna 2018-03-04 Belvedere 4

Photos today mostly from the gallery with The Kiss, including a better shot of it, and an interesting Braille installation so people with limited sight can get an idea of what it looks like.

Not a Klimt & one of the reasons
I hate artwork displayed behind glass -
that window reflection is not part of the
painting.

Somehow missed getting the description of this:
it's Klimt's amazing Adele Bloch-Bauer portrait.

VIENNA 2018-03-04 Belvedere 3

More Klimt & Schiele. Several from one of Schiele's city scapes - I think they are my favorite of his paintings. Few collections have them and in 2016 I was so impressed to see two in the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. Imagine my delight to have seen a whole gallery-ful of them in the Leopold exhibition. Also a 1910 (early) Schiele painting that already shows his ideas re use of the hands.

Vienna 2018-03-04 More Belvedere

Photos of more Klimt & Schiele, and a few of the the many artistic touches that abound throughout the building. Even the tiles on the men's room were beautiful.

(Reminds me of the Willkommen song from Cabaret when the MC says, "Life is disappointing? Forget it. Here, life is beautiful. The girls are beautiful. Even the orchestra is beautiful." Youtube won't let me embed this fabulous rendition.)

I love this painting. Sat in front of it for a very long time
(maybe that was the 2nd visit)

I honestly don't remember what this is - given what follows, it must have been a toilet stall in the men's room. Pretty magical, nonetheless, yes?

Men's room rest room floor tiles.

Floor detail of the stairs somewhere in the museum.

Old Crow Medicine Show

A couple songs I hope will brighten your holidays. Whiskey Christmas   and Holly Jolly Christmas (it's worth listening to the end)
