Thanksgiving 2012

Here's what Turkey Day looked like chez nous. Including a shot of Potter. The wine Andy managed to find was the "perfect" complement to the turkey according to some random radio show.

Peaceful moments

Thought you might enjoy a shot of domestic bliss:

One of the few times I've seen them together. Off to tootle.

Cloister closing

Shots today the last from that Cloisters pilgrimage as the closing bells rang. One shot in particular was stunning of the cloudscape behind the building at sunset. I then took the subway to 116th St. & got totally lost (headed west instead of east toward Morningside Park) making my way back to Margi & Michael's making that trip take a lot longer (and colder) than I'd thought.

One round of tootling done today, toddling probably not on tap since it's raining.

Cloisters continued

More pictures from that magical trip to the cloisters with one that I call the Three Faces of Eve,  another unicorn tapestry, several of the incredibe column capitals that dot (crown?) the place, a passing dragon,(Remember you can click on the images to see a larger version.)

Thought I might have a Polarity treatment this AM, but the practitioner called & postponed so a day free for laundry, tootling, toddling, & stitching - whee!

cloisters day 1

Shots today from my old stomping grounds in northern Manhattan on 20.Jan.2012, including my old apartment building and several shots from in & around the beautiful Cloisters (check out the unicorn tapestries). It was the first time I'd been back there since moving my stuff in  . . . when was it? 1990? Even forgot not to follow the crowd at 125th St. & to stay on the train to the end of the line.

Pre piccolo practice picture posting

Managed to keep from checking election results until 7ish this AM. Imagine my relief.

Day four from 20.January.2012 including some favorite Suprematist works. I'm struck how, with some early abstract works, you can still see their connection to the "real" world. This is esp. clear when you trace Kandinsky's development from the figurative to the abstract, e.g. at the Guggenheim's wonderful 2010 show (please take time to take in the video). Other works from the 2nd half of the 20th century rooms @ Moma, including Louise Bourgeoise's La Fillette (what could that be?), & a very interesting work by Bruce Nauman.

Dan Graham's March 31, 1966 (clearer version)

Louise Bourgeoise' La Fillette (the little girl)

This & the following 2 are details of the untitled piece.
