How we do things in Boston

Here's Boston Medica celebrating the arrival of the Covid vaccine. I wish they'd focused more on the guy in blue in the front. He certainly is one of the better dancers. And get a load of the guy in the blue shirt in the back. He looks close to my age.

In case you're curious, the here's Lizzo's song, "Good as hell."

I do my hair toss, check my nails
Baby how you feelin'? (feelin' good as hell)
Hair toss, check my nails
Baby how you feelin'? (feelin' good as hell)
Woo child, tired of the bullshit
Go and dust your shoulders off
Keep it movin'
Yes lord, trying to get some new shit
In this when where goin' to the pool shit
Come now, come dry your eyes
You know you a star, you can touch the sky
I know that it's hard but you have to try
If you need advice let me simplify
If he don't love you anymore
Just walk your fine ass out the door
I do my hair toss, check my nails
Baby how you feelin'? (feelin' good as hell)
Hair toss, check my nails
Baby how you feelin'? (feelin' good as hell)
(feelin' good as hell)
Baby how you feelin'? (feelin' good as hell)
Woo girl, need to kick off your shoes
Gotta take a deep breath
Time to focus on you
All the big fights, long nights that you been through
I got a bottle of tequila I been saving for you
Boss up and change your life
You can have it all, no sacrifice
I know he did you wrong, we can make it right
So go and let it all hang out tonight
'Cause he don't love you anymore
So walk your fine ass out the door
And do your hair toss, check my nails
Baby how you feelin'? (feelin' good as hell)
Hair toss, check my nails
Baby how you feelin'? (feelin' good as hell)
Hair toss, check my nails
Baby how you feelin'? (feelin' good as hell)
Hair toss, check my nails
Baby how you feelin'? (feelin' good as hell)
Listen, if he don't love you anymore
Then walk your fine ass out the door
And do your hair toss, check my nails
Baby how you feelin'? (feelin' good as hell)
Hair toss, check my nails
Baby how you feelin'? (feelin' good as hell)
Hair toss, check my nails
Baby how you feelin'? (feelin' good as hell)
Hair toss, check my nails
Baby how you feelin'? (feelin' good as hell)
(feelin' good as hell)
Baby how you feelin'? (feelin' good as hell)

Incredible Christmas

 With the amazing Gary Barlow.

 "Incredible Christmas"

Some say Christmas time is magical
Some say Christmas, they can't get enough
Time to give and time to share
Have fun before it dissolves into thin air
Some might say "it's only a day"
And then some might say "can we do it again?"
I say if y'all feeling the same
Take the biggest dose and empty it into your veins

When your reputation's only fabulous
That's what Christmas time is supposed to be
You and me

'Cause it's incredible
Absolutely unforgettable
Just one day when we can have it all, ain't it sweet
How incredible Christmas time can be?
So let's sing it all
Every word and every syllable
Send a blessing down from high above, then you'll see
How incredible Christmas time can be
(How incredible Christmas time can be)

Some say drink too much then sleep it off
Some say all this fuss can be too much
Christmas memories never forgot
Remind you of the faces that you've loved and lost
Thanksgiving, plates spinning
Opening presents, bells ringing
And it's only half past ten
Just another year and we can do it again

When your reputation's only fabulous
That's what Christmas time is supposed to be
You and me

'Cause it's incredible (it's incredible)
Absolutely unforgettable (unforgettable)
Just one day when we can have it all (we can have it all), ain't it sweet
How incredible Christmas time can be?
So let's sing it all (so let's sing it all)
Every word and every syllable (every syllable)
Send a blessing down from high above (down from high above), then you'll see
How incredible Christmas time can be
How incredible Christmas time can be

Incredible
Sensational
Oh, it's wonderful
Hands-off, it's untankable
It's outstanding, unbelievable, remarkable
Did I forget that you can use every single letter in the alphabet? Woo!
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Whoa-oh-oh

'Cause it's incredible (it's incredible)
Absolutely unforgettable (unforgettable)
Just one day when we can have it all (we can have it all), ain't it sweet
How incredible Christmas time can be?
It's incredible
It's unbreakable
It's unbelievable, don't you know
It's Christmas time so don't be alone
I'll meet under the mistletoe

Happy Thanksgiving

With special thanks to creator Dan Mertzluft, and James Corden, Kristin Chenoweth, Josh Gad, Patti LuPone, Josh Groban and Audra McDonald.

My creation

Or at least my version of Michelangelo's "Creation of Adam" from the Sistine Chapel.

I leave it to you which is God. Lost in the mist of time is whether the reference was intentional.

And then there's this one:

Be like that

Saw this last night on A Late Show and it had me smiling & had me smiling. Hope it does the same for you. Mr. Brown just won the American Music Award for Favorite Male Artist - Country. Don't know that it sounds country to moi.

"Be Like That"
(feat. Swae Lee & Khalid)

I might be better on my own
I hate you blowing up my phone
I wish I never met yo' ass
Sometimes it be like that
But I'm not myself the nights you're gone
There ain't no way I'm moving on
I'm not afraid to need you bad
Sometimes it be like that

We both wanna love
We both wanna slide
We both wanna argue until we're both right
And you want a hug
I kiss you goodnight
Maybe we're both just out of our mind

You throw tantrums while I'm twisting up
No medicine is fixing us
Can't tell you why but tell you what
You got me thinking

I might be better on my own
I hate you blowing up my phone
I wish I never met yo' ass
Sometimes it be like that
But I'm not myself the nights you're gone
There ain't no way I'm moving on
I'm not afraid to need you bad
Sometimes it be like that

I cross the seas witchu'
Wasn't even supposed to be witchu'
Yeah, and it gets crazy in the night
I cannot sleep with you
And I could keep you nice and warm
Won't do no thinking, I'm in love
If I was to give you the world
That's anything that you can think of

Got too much going to be upset
I swear I'd rather be your friend
I said I'm gonna be right back
It hurts sometimes it be like that

I might be better on my own
I hate you blowing up my phone
I wish I never met yo' ass
Sometimes it be like that
But I'm not myself the nights you're gone
There ain't no way I'm moving on
I'm not afraid to need you bad
Sometimes it be like that

Sometimes when you thought you found the love of your life
Now you're thinking I'm just one of those guys leading on
I can't help when you read it wrong

Don't know why I trip on us
You put me down, I pick you up
Can't tell you why, but tell you what
You got me thinking

I might be better on my own
I hate you blowing up my phone
I wish I never met yo' ass
Sometimes it be like that
But I'm not myself the nights you're gone
There ain't no way I'm moving on
I'm not afraid to need you bad
Sometimes it be like that

Sometimes when you're falling off track
Baby, don't you leave me like that
Don't cry
'Cause we're both just out of our mind

Dance the blues away

 Given my extended family's history with Parkinson's - mom, her brother, an uncle by marriage - I want to share this;

Magic

I wasn't sure about this when she started this song on Colbert last night, but by the end she'd totally sold me and I was dancing like I haven't in ages. Kylie Minogue, ladies and gentlemen, from her album, Disco.

If this doesn't help her break into the U.S. market, I don't know what will.

Indoor landscape

I was doing some stretches in the guest room yesterday and was mesmerized by the shadows cast on the rug by the angle of the sun. I've long loved the texture of the rug and think the sun at this time of year highlights the interest and its landscape qualities.

19.Oct.2020 the Guggenheim zoomed a presentation on the above. Here are some screenshots I took.

Basquiat: Writing the future

27.Sept. and 04.Nov.2020 the MFA zoomed an exploration of their exhibition on Basquiat and his contemporaries. Here are some screenshots I took.

I used to think I liked the idea of Basquiat more than the fact of him, but seeing this presentation put him in context of what else was going on at the time. It was weird, since I lived in NYC in the '80s to hear it spoken of as history.

The last two images is of the MFA's Murals Project.  Though they mention a book with a map, I couldn't find any references. The last one took my breath away after I stumbled upon it on the way home from an MD appt. a while ago.
