Knit happens no. I don't remember

Ready for some knitting-related laughs (at least I hope that will be your response)? OK. Here goes. (In case you wonder about the last photo, it's Winter the llama.)

What's old is new again

Some photos from yesterday and from 2009 at the cabin that somehow never made it here. Hadn't I started the blog then? Does Google only allow 10 years' worth of posts? Dunno. You'll understand why we Ranck sibs say we don't know where people who live on the lake go when they die since they're already in heaven.

2020-05-12 Latest on the flower front

Day before yesterday I went out to capture the state of the garden. Sadly, the violets are mostly gone due to lawn mowing. The lilacs are late this year, I think since Mother's Day @ the Arboretum is usually called Lilac Sunday. Oh, and the first photo is actually from 2018 showing our Wright garden sprite hiding among the foliage.

Hiding

These little things used to be on a table in the living room, some of them representing family members. They're all now quivering in their boots on a shelf more than six feet above the floor, hoping the demon child Toby doesn't find them up there & turn them into playthings again.

He also sprayed the lawn mower bag Saturday after Andy brought it in from mowing the lawn. Way past time to get him fixed. But how to do that during the shut down? You might remember we had an impossible time last fall trying to catch him to bring him to the vet. Not sure what I'll do if he sprays the beautiful (IMHO) carpet in the guest room.

Stay away

Randy Newman, author of Short People  (good God, that song is from 1977,  43 years ago?? I am old), has written a new song. I though you might enjoy hearing it if you missed it on A Late Show last night. I think he's joking about his medical expertise.

Here are the lyrics:
"Stay Away"

Venus in sweatpants
That's who you are
And when this mess is over
I'll buy you a car
We'll drive that car
So fast and so far
All your stupid friends
Will be left behind

Stay away from me
Baby, keep your distance, please
Stay away from me
Words of love in times like these
I'm gonna be with you 24 hours a day
A lot of people couldn't stand that
But you can
You'll be with me 24 hours a day
What a lucky man I am

Stay away from me
Wash your hands
Don't touch your face
How do you like that
Wash your hands
Don't touch your face
I saw you
Thirty years together
And we're still having fun
Once we were two
Now we are one
Let's go out and get a burger
When you're done, you're done
Memories of the past

Be kind to one another
Tell her you love her every day
If you're angry about something, let it go
If the kids are frightened, tell them not to be afraid
But don't let them touch your face
Don't let them touch your face

May the fourth

May the Fourth be with you. Happy Star Wars Day. :)

Flowers blooming in our yard after my morning toddle. Things busier on a Monday morning @ 7ishAM than Sunday, that's for sure.

At first glance, these violets look like snow on the ground

Some tulips Andy planted last year in the side yard.

I think these daffodils in front of the
front porch are my favorites

Old Crow Medicine Show

A couple songs I hope will brighten your holidays. Whiskey Christmas   and Holly Jolly Christmas (it's worth listening to the end)
