2018-05-31 to June is bustin out all over

Workmen taking down trees & photos of various places in our yard & neighborhood from the last day of May until June 12. Including a couple videos that show the scary maw of the chipper that only choked on the largest tree chunks.

For the longest time

Had forgotten how à propos this scene from Madam Secretary was to today's news.

Who knew Patina Miller and Erich Bergen could sing as well as act? (Singing in the below starts about 50 seconds in.) Mr. Bergen also sang in a recent(ish to me, anyway) episode, the scene of which took place on the fictional election night and he was singing show tunes (and playing the piano!) as the assembled multitude awaited the results. Couldn't find a clip of that. :|

2018-03-15 MFA Klimt/Schiele

A few days after returning from Vienna, I took a trip to the MFA to see the its Klimt/Schiele "Drawn"show (would better have been titled "Works on paper," but I guess that was too much of a mouthful). Ironically, most of the material was from Vienna's Albertina collection.

The link to the MFA's website above includes an interesting video by the curator. Here are the pictures I too, there. Only a couple not safe for work. And a couple of his house paintings, which, along with his city scapes, are some of my favorites of his subjects.

Sorry for the shadows on some of the photos' descriptions - because of the fragility of some of the work, it was very dimly lit & impossible to avoid getting one's shadow in the way.
