2016-03-06: Negev desert

Photos today mostly from our trek to & through the Negev desert. Some ancient rock carvings, and more recent traces of human civilization. You can tell why Jan was so excited by all the spring blooming things we saw before, since the desert shots are what most of Israel looks like most of the year.

Rock carvings thought to be from 2,000 to 4,000 years ago.
Supposedly there's a giraffe somewhere.

Sorry the camera didn't catch them very well.

More recent examples of human habitation.
