2016-02-29: Akko (or Acre)

Photos today from in & around Akko (who knew the Eng. equivalent was Acre?), one of the oldest continuously inhabited sites in the region (or the world?), where we toured the Knights Templar ruins (where Jan discovered this cramped tunnel that featured something I think was most likely not original), and strolled along its ramparts. As is often the case, Muslim & Christian houses of worship were practically cheek by jowl.

Do you think the Templars used this?

The tunnel on the way out.

New Akko construction

I doubt they'd get away with this in Iran.

  1. Whoa, the Knights Templar! Obliges me to use that severely over-used word, but honestly, AWESOME!
