Nearing the end

Well, not of the pictures. I thought I'd send along a link to an IMHO segment on the PBS News Hour in case you missed it last night, entitled "Learning how to think about death changed how I live."

So here are the photos of my trip from the MAK to the Belvedere to buy tickets (I was reminded the hard way that if you hold up your index finger for 1 of something you're likely to get 2 in Europe since 1 is indicated by the thumb. Fortunately I'd planned to visit the Belvedere twice, though not necessarily both parts, so it wasn't a total bust. €44 would have been a lot for a single visit, even for that collection.

I then made my way to the Kunst Historisches Museum (literally Historical Art Museum) a.k.a. KHM, a huge place. I was almost crying as I finally gave up and just high tailed it through the last of the seemingly endless Kunstkammers. The Klimt murals adorn some of the walls surrounding the central hall. More KHM photos to follow.

Belvedere - Oberes (Upper), I think

KHM statue as you mount the stairs from the central hall.

Kinda past their prime, but a propos somehow.

I think the above is the Greek one.

Several modern works were paired with older ones - no
wall blurbs so I don't know if I was too early or if the
powers-that-be were just leaving it to our imaginations.

Hans Memling is one of my favorite Dutch
painters. Sorry this is so blurry.
